On the Level
In my pocket or my bag
But somewhere on my person
You may be sure to find
A tiny carpenter’s level
I cannot stand to be
Anywhere it seems
Where paintings are askew
Or photos, wall hangings, etc.
Now some will say it’s
Simply because my own
Bubble has trouble staying
Near the middle
And they are likely right
But when you see perfectly
Aligned public displays
Try to remember this
Most probably, an unbalanced
Level carrying crazy person
Has just breezed by
Putting things to rights
