There is an uncommon beauty to death where nothing remains concealed

As if a veil is lifted, even briefly, I find myself mesmerized by the ordinariness

Of an extraordinary event, challenged to examine the minutiae - as if by taking

Apart each last moment, I might discover the final straw, as if by locating it, 

I will know what mattered
